Why Music?
Music and what has happened to it over time. I want to tell the connection between different places in the world and how it has involved over time. I know that all around the world that people use music different and sometimes to communicate with one another. I want to tell how music has affected people and how they do or do not connect with one another because of it. Scientist have proven what music has done and can do for people through the means of education and other things. I pick this topic because I know there is a deeper connection between the world and music. I am set out to get the deeper meaning and understanding of it, how it changed and how it influenced people.
The main thing I felt it was best to start with when telling about Music in the global world is how it started with slavery. Most people tend to branch away from it because it’s so cliché and they feel the African American race has to ‘always’ bring anything and everything that has to deal with the concept of history back to being beaten, chained and whipped. When it is something beyond that, back thing they use to sing ‘old negro spirituals’. When people jokingly sing them today they do not know the deeper meaning of it. For a while I, myself did not know there was a ‘deeper’ meaning but there is. It was a way of connecting to one another, telling messages and sometimes just simply praying. From that I would just link everything around and see where it takes the research and where the music has landed.
Over time music has of course changed, it use to have a deeper and more serious meaning. It went from saying much, to being loud and saying not much of anything or just turning straight into entertainment. In some respects it is a good thing because just as much as anything that else music has to stay ‘fashion forward’ or ‘keeping up with the Joneses’ as people like to say. So appealing to the listeners it a good thing but when the good meaning becomes corruption that becomes a problem. Because Music is such a global thing the worst thing that it can do it corrupt minds and enforce negative things onto younger and older generations.
What’s next on the list as far as music goes? Ha, honestly I don’t even wanna think about it. If music keeps going the rate that it is going now I feel like there will be no hope for our younger generation because music went from having deeping meaning and now it’s just ‘entertainment’ some people live and rule by the lyrics they hear on the radio.
What time is it ?!This is a time line to show a little about how music has grown over time and where our greatest "hits" favorite composers started off.
